From 20 February 27, 2011, the Independent Expert on the situation of human rights in Haiti, Michel Forst will visit the country for the third time after the earthquake that struck the country in January 2010.
The mission is to investigate the situation of the country after her last visit in September 2010, and whether the recommendations of the last report to the Human Rights Council are being implemented.
The mission will focus on respect for a human rights approach as regards the reconstruction of the country, the rule of law, and the prevention of impunity for perpetrators of human rights.
Michel Forst will meet with high autoirtà local and international government representatives, the diplomatic corps, and civil society. Also, visit different places: the internal fields for the displaced, prisons, and some city, Cap-Haitien and Jacmel.
At the conclusion of his visit, Michel Forst, will draft a report and make recommendations on the situation of human rights in Haiti to the UN Human Rights Council.
